About Us
This website looks at the everyday lives of women in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran. It shows how similar forms of gender control shape their choices and freedoms. In all three countries, women face limits from governments, families, and society. These limits affect where they can go, what they can study, who they can marry, and how they speak or act. Many women learn to stay quiet or careful as a way to stay safe.
The website is based on interviews and personal stories. It focuses on women’s voices and experiences, not numbers or statistics. It shows how patriarchy works through laws, culture, and family expectations, and how ideas of honor and tradition are used to control women. At the same time, it also shows how women push back, resist, and find small ways to create space for themselves.
